Molecules is the leading international, peer-reviewed, open access journal of chemistry. Molecules is published semimonthly online by MDPI. The International Society of Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids (IS3NA), the Spanish Society of Medicinal Chemistry (SEQT) and the International Society of Heterocyclic Chemistry (ISHC) are affiliated with Molecules and their members receive a discount on the article processing charges. The Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) is a partner of Molecules and their members receive a discount on the article processing charges.
Our aim is to provide rigorous peer review and enable rapid publication of cutting-edge research to educate and inspire the scientific community worldwide. Scientists are encouraged to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. Full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. In addition, the availability of compound samples is published and considered important information, and authors are encouraged to register or deposit their chemical samples through the international non-profit organization Molecular Diversity Preservation International (MDPI).

Molecules is a journal covering the technologies/fields/categories related to Analytical Chemistry (Q1); Chemistry (miscellaneous) (Q1); Pharmaceutical Science (Q1); Drug Discovery (Q2); Medicine (miscellaneous) (Q2); Organic Chemistry (Q2); Physical and Theoretical Chemistry (Q2); Molecular Medicine (Q3). It is published by Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI). The overall rank of Molecules is 6922. According to SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), this journal is ranked 0.744. SCImago Journal Rank is an indicator, which measures the scientific influence of journals. It considers the number of citations received by a journal and the importance of the journals from where these citations come. SJR acts as an alternative to the Journal Impact Factor (or an average number of citations received in last 2 years). This journal has an h-index of 227. The best quartile for this journal is Q1.
The ISSN of Molecules journal is 14203049. An International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is a unique code of 8 digits. It is used for the recognition of journals, newspapers, periodicals, and magazines in all kind of forms, be it print-media or electronic. Molecules is cited by a total of 110930 articles during the last 3 years (Preceding 2023).
The Impact IF 2023 of Molecules is 4.46, which is computed in 2024 as per its definition. Molecules IF is decreased by a factor of 0.25 and approximate percentage change is -5.31% when compared to preceding year 2022, which shows a falling trend. The impact IF, also denoted as Journal impact score (JIS), of an academic journal is a measure of the yearly average number of citations to recent articles published in that journal. It is based on Scopus data.
Impact IF 2023 of Molecules is 4.46. If the same downward trend persists, Impact IF may fall in 2024 as well.

The acceptance rate/percentage of any academic journal/conference depends upon many parameters. Some of the critical parameters are listed below.
It is essential to understand that the acceptance rate/rejection rate of papers varies among journals. Some Journals considers all the manuscripts submissions as a basis of acceptance rate computation. On the other hand, few consider the only manuscripts sent for peer review or few even not bother about the accurate maintenance of total submissions. Hence, it can provide a rough estimation only.
The best way to find out the acceptance rate is to reach out to the associated editor or to check the official website of the Journal/Conference.
