About |
Millimeter-wave (mmWave) is the core wireless technology for next-generation cellular and Wi-Fi systems, such as 5G NR, to enable multi-gigabytes per second throughput and ultra-low latency demanding use cases: immersive virtual and mixed reality; tactile internet; telesurgery; and autonomous vehicles safety. MmWave frequency bands offer multiple gigahertz (GHz) of the spectrum — 200x more than the bandwidth allocated to today's Wi-Fi and cellular networks; thus, it promises to satisfy the ever-increasing demands for mobile and wireless data. MmWave systems also enable new sensing applications, such as fine-grained gesture recognition, RF imaging, and material classification. The ACM Workshop on Millimeter-Wave Networks and Sensing Systems serves to bring mmWave researchers from academia and industry under one umbrella to present their latest research and shape the future of this technology. |
